Request For: Pro and College All Sports
Request Title: Better POY evaluation
Description
The way players of the year are calculated is biased in favor of a couple of positions.
For example:
CEL OPOY - QB 63 of the last 65 seasons
CCEL OPOY - QB the last 65 seasons in a row
CBEL DPOY - PG the last 70 seasons in a row
I guess looking at this, it really only applies to basketball and football. In basketball, it might be that we need some sort of new metric tracked (maybe invisibly) that records defensive effectiveness instead of just tallying steals and blocks?
In football ... maybe just balancing the contributions of different players needs to be revisited? A TB or WR might not have the absolute numbers of a QB, but they are occasionally rewarded with MVP type awards in real life (QB does in fact still dominate, just not unanimously.)

Adnan Bislimovic: Could we have an asap update in basketball please! Only C and PG in POY Race. We need new perimeters here. The same for the Allstars !
M McCusker (May 27 09:25:13 2020 ): I’ve only played the baseball sim for a few seasons but so far there seems to be a pretty strong bias toward starting pitchers.
Stephen Thompson (Jul 4 11:43:08 2020 ): I don't play the baseball sim ... but maybe somebody who does can say whether there is a strong bias for starting pitchers, or if closers occasionally win the Cy Young as they do in real life. UPDATE: For the 72nd time in the last 73 seasons, the CBEL DPOY was a point guard.
