Request For: College All Sports
Request Title: Recruiting - 3rd rd visits
Description Would it be possible to allow recruits to visit more than 5 schools in the last round of recruiting? In the current CCEL recruiting, a few tier 1 and 2 schools invited 40-80 recruits. A lot of those recruits have 2 or 3 of their visits tied up in three schools that will only recruit a few of them at most. That likely leaves those recruits with nowhere to go and tier 2 and 3 schools short of getting a shot at them because they were lower than 5th on the list. There are quite a few recruits with 15 or more invites, some with more than 20 invites. It would be nice for those lower schools to at least have a shot if those recruits do not sign with a bigger school.
If possible to allow recruits to visit 10 or 15 schools in the final round, it could benefit the lower tier schools, which are otherwise at a disadvantage in most other aspects of recruiting.

Admin Notes I'm not sure I completely follow. If 2-3 out of 5 visits are to Tier 1/2 schools, doesn't that leave the remaining 2-3 for Tier 3? Also, I thought I already got rid of the logic that previously had recruits be "picky" in the later recruiting rounds (they should always visit five if invited by 5+ schools).

Pythagoras A (Oct 24 18:33:02 2022
): Saying 2-3 teams was just an example. Here are five D C players who did not sign anywhere, but obviously could have helped a lot of tier 3 teams. They did not sign anywhere because the teams they did visit didn't really want them, or used their points elsewhere. When tier 3 teams are scrambling to sign F D players, having D C players not sign anywhere does not help.

Ron BK (Oct 27 10:35:39 2022
): I like this, let’s go 10 deep for every round of recruiting
Hubbard Crane II (Nov 17 07:51:14 2022
): Agree with this. More visits in the 3rd round would be very good for the T3 teams. A well working and realistic 3:d round is crucial for T3 programs.
