This will take some time to implement due to the need to insert a game into the postseason schedule. I think there are three ways to accomplish this:
1. Remove one "off day" during the regular season, and start the wildcard series in what is currently the final game day of the regular season. The most significant impact would be to EPBL, which currently starts the postseason during the early game of Tuesday and would be forced to start the postseason mid-day under this approach. (The other leagues already start the postseason in the middle of a day.)
2. Remove two "off days" during the regular season, and start the wildcard series in what is currently the second to last game day of the regular season. This would allow all leagues to start the wildcard series after an overnight break.
3. Keep the regular season length as is, push the third wildcard series game into what is currently the first divisional series game. The divisional series would end at the current time. This would cause the divisional series to start mid-day in all leagues, rather than currently getting an overnight break between the wildcard and divisional rounds.
Appreciate any feedback. I this I prefer "Option 2".

Pythagoras A (Jun 30 12:19:17 2023 ): I am in favor of any of the options for the expanded playoffs. The closer to reality, the better. I would also like to see the schedule updated, as all MLB teams will face each other team at least once.
