Scholarships provide a limit to the number of good players any one team can
have. They are given out at two points during the season: to returning
key players before walk-ons, and during the
recruiting
phase. The maximum number of players any team may have under scholarship
is 25 in baseball/hockey, 13 in basketball, and 50 in football. At the start of the season, certain players on your team will decide that they earned scholarships the previous season based on their impact and/or playing time. These players must be given scholarships with the "Award Scholarships" button in your team control menu before walk-ons, or they will leave the roster.
