CVBL: LA Lakers Beats Golden State 88-79

Golden State failed to make the most of their chances, coming up short 88-79 against LA Lakers in today's contest. "They got a gift, no question in my mind," grumbled Golden State coach Perez Suarez. "We outplayed them today, but just couldn't come up with the big plays when we were threatening to score. I just can't wait until the rematch; we'll show them who's really the best."

LA Lakers coach Andreas Helmle saw things a little differently. "I'm proud of our defensive effort today. They avoided giving up the big plays, and really came through in the key situations. Perez Suarez may blame his offense, but they'd have been able to score if they didn't have good opposition."

LA Lakers was led by Richardson (17 points, 12 boards, 0 assists, a steal, a block), Jenkins (13 points, 8 boards, 0 assists, a block), Vest (8 points, 7 boards, 4 assists, a block). Golden State was led by Salas (23 points, 3 blocks), Lynn (11 points, 8 boards, 1 assists, a block), Hill (11 points, 10 boards, 0 assists).

LA Lakers stand at 29-10 after the victory. They hold at #2 in the Pacific and remain at #4 overall in the Western Conference. Golden State stand at 10-29 and 7-12 at home with this defeat. They stay at #5 in the Pacific and stay at #14 overall in the Western Conference.
