CVBL: LA Clippers Defeats Orlando 80-79
LA Clippers overcame a great game by Wright, beating Orlando 80-79. "It's a team sport," said losing coach Bob. "If we had another couple players like Wright out there, we'd have won this game easily. But we didn't, so we didn't." Bob has been under fire lately, and the lackluster performance by his players (save Wright) certainly doesn't improve his job security any.
The normally-quiet Wright was less than satisfied after the game. "I feel betrayed - like I did my best and my teammates didn't. I don't know if it was coach's fault for not getting the team up, or if the other players just all had an off day at the same time. But this was a close game, we had our chances, and we didn't execute when we needed."
LA Clippers was led by Brown (37 points, 13 boards, 1 assists, a block), Patrick (20 points, a block), Stubbs (5 points, 2 steals, a block). Orlando was led by Wright (17 points, 5 boards, 4 assists, a block), Vancourt (18 points, 6 boards, 5 assists), Feliu (17 points, 8 boards, 3 assists).
LA Clippers have been victorious in the past 5 games and improve to 29-9. They remain at #1 in the Pacific and stay at #1 overall in the Western Conference. Orlando fall to 17-22 and 13-8 at home. They stay at #2 in the Southeast and stay at #8 overall in the Eastern Conference.
