CVBL: Portland Gets a Big Win Against Sacramento

Bob is a believer in destiny now. After running up a $300 phone bill talking with a fortune teller he saw advertised on cable TV, his Portland team managed to upset favored Sacramento Bob-Bob.

"It was crazy. I called her up, and she knew I was the Portland coach. She saw the whole game before it happened. She told me we needed to build our game around Smith, and that sure worked out well. She was telling me their entire gameplan, I couldn't take notes fast enough. She saw that Gilliam was going to have a big day for Sacramento, but not to worry about him and focus on the rest of the team. The best part was she told me at the end that it was destiny for us to win this game. Destiny."

Asked what he thought about Bob's experience, Sacramento coach Bob replied simply: "No comment".

Portland was led by Smith (35 points, 8 boards, 5 assists, 2 steals), Vanderveer (12 points, 9 boards, 3 assists, a steal, 2 blocks), Kimbell (21 points, 5 boards, 1 assists, a block). Sacramento was led by Gilliam (26 points, 7 boards, 2 assists, 3 blocks), Brown (10 points, 10 boards, 3 assists), Bravo (14 points, 3 assists, a block).

Portland improve to 20-20 and 10-9 at home with today's victory. They stay at #4 in the Northwest and hold at #9 overall in the Western Conference. Sacramento fall to 32-7. They hold at #1 in the Pacific and remain at #1 overall in the Western Conference.
