CVBL: Philadelphia Express Steamrolls Portland 95-88

Simmons continues to dominate the league and helped Philadelphia post an expected win over Portland, 95-88. The game was a solid team effort, but Simmons - a favorite for post-season honors - was outstanding, completely overshadowing a great performance by Portland key player, King.

Simmons's coach, Bob, had nothing but praise for his star. "He's just special. It's something just to sit back and watch him do his thing. He certainly brings pride to Philadelphia fans everywhere." Portland coach Bob was concilliatory after the game as well. "When Simmons is doing his thing, you just hope you can keep him under control. We didn't, though King certainly did his part. We really thought we could win this game, so the locker room is pretty quiet right now. We'll just have to turn our focus to next week."

Philadelphia was led by Simmons (15 points, 11 boards, 0 assists, a steal, a block), Garcia (24 points, a block), Franklin (16 points, 6 boards, 1 assists, a block). Portland was led by King (16 points, a block), Harper (8 points, 8 boards, 1 assists, a steal, 3 blocks), Animashaun (20 points, 1 assists, a block).

Philadelphia jump to 24-16. They stay at #2 in the Atlantic and remain at #8 overall in the Eastern Conference. With the loss, Portland fall to 24-15 and 17-5 at home. They hold at #2 in the Northwest and drop to #5 overall in the Western Conference.
