CVBL: Minnesota Beats Brooklyn
Brooklyn failed to make the most of their chances, coming up short 103-95 against Minnesota in today's contest. "They got a gift, no question in my mind," grumbled Brooklyn coach Bob. "We outplayed them today, but just couldn't come up with the big plays when we were threatening to score. I just can't wait until the rematch; we'll show them who's really the best."
Minnesota coach Bob saw things a little differently. "I'm proud of our defensive effort today. They avoided giving up the big plays, and really came through in the key situations. Bob may blame his offense, but they'd have been able to score if they didn't have good opposition."
Minnesota was led by Files (38 points, 6 boards, 2 assists, a block), Walz (5 points, 5 boards, 16 assists, 5 steals, a block), Jaramillo (6 points, 15 boards, 3 assists, a steal, 6 blocks). Brooklyn was led by Foster (26 points, 7 boards, 1 assists), Rosemond (12 points, a steal, a block), Starks (11 points, a steal).
Minnesota are now 32-8 and 19-2 at home. They remain at #1 in the Northwest and stay at #2 overall in the Western Conference. Brooklyn stand at 21-20. They fall to #5 in the Atlantic and move down to #9 overall in the Eastern Conference.
