CVBL: LA Lakers Steals Spotlight from Miami
LA Lakers played a solid game today, beating Miami 79-66. Miami players and fans were expecting the game to be a bit closer, but everything went well for LA Lakers today. "It was really frustrating," said Miami star Durham. "I thought we were going to be ready for this game, but we just couldn't do anything against them." Coach Bob seemed perplexed early on, but made a few adjustments late in the game that were too little, too late in this game but may help his side out next time these two teams meet.
LA Lakers was led by Bailey (15 points, 14 boards, 4 assists, 3 blocks), Walz (14 points, 5 boards, 7 assists, 2 steals), Carter (16 points, 7 boards, 2 assists, 2 blocks). Miami was led by Durham (27 points, 3 steals), Hargrove (8 points, 8 boards, 0 assists), Scruggs (5 points, 5 boards, 2 assists).
With this victory, LA Lakers improve to 18-24. They remain at #4 in the Pacific and improve to #10 overall in the Western Conference. Miami have lost their last 14 games and are now 13-28 and 10-9 at home. They remain at #5 in the Southeast and stay at #14 overall in the Eastern Conference.
