CVBL: Phoenix Wins 106-93

Wilson was unstoppable today, leading Phoenix to a 106-93 win over LA Lakers. "I've never seen anything like that," said LA Lakers star Bailey. "Wilson just flat-out dominated, and there was nothing any of us could do about it." Agreed coach Andreas Helmle, "He's an excellent talent with an excellent coach. I'm afraid that we'll be seeing more of him down the road."

Wilson refused to get caught up in the excitement, however. "I just did what coach told me to do," he said. "And we couldn't have won without my teammates doing their best as well." While true, Wilson certainly increased the margin of victory from a close call to a solid win.

Phoenix was led by Wilson (10 points, 5 boards, 4 assists, 2 steals, 3 blocks), Calloway (26 points, 6 boards, 0 assists), Whitfield (21 points, 0 assists). LA Lakers was led by Bailey (22 points, 6 boards, 1 assists, a steal, 3 blocks), Mcwilliams (12 points, 2 steals, a block), Hall (6 points, 11 boards, 2 assists, 2 steals).

Phoenix are now 15-12. They stay at #2 in the Pacific and move up to #7 overall in the Western Conference. LA Lakers keep stumbling with a losing streak of 9 games and are now 7-18 and 4-7 at home. They remain at #4 in the Pacific and stay at #14 overall in the Western Conference.
