CVBL: Detroit Steals Spotlight from Dallas
Detroit showed who was the better team tonight with a convincing 110-90 win over Dallas. Although not exactly a blowout, Detroit coach David Smith and his players outplayed Dallas from start to end. "I was hoping for a better outcome," said Dallas coach Bob during a post-game interview. "But they just overpowered us, and there was nothing we could do to adjust. David Smith's team was more talented and better-prepared, and it would have taken quite a bit of luck for us to overcome that."
The loss was tough on Dallas fans, who had expected great things from their team after some offseason moves. "I think reality is starting to sink in," said one team. "We didn't expect to see other teams outplaying us this badly, but Detroit sure made their point."
Detroit was led by Lacroix (16 points, 13 boards, 1 assists), Price (7 points, 12 assists, a steal), Martin (16 points, 5 boards, 2 assists, 2 blocks). Dallas was led by Kay (24 points, 1 assists, 4 steals, a block), Meyers (20 points, 8 boards, 0 assists, 2 blocks), Robinson (11 points, 9 boards, 0 assists).
With today's victory, Detroit stand at 26-15. They hold at #2 in the Central and remain at #5 overall in the Eastern Conference. Dallas fall to 24-15 and 16-5 at home with this loss. They hold at #2 in the Southwest and fall to #5 overall in the Western Conference.
