CVBL: Denver Needs Overtime to defeat Phoenix

Denver escaped by the narrowest of margins today, beating Phoenix 126-125 in overtime. "Not a stellar game on our part," commented Denver coach Bob. "We gave them way too many chances and they nearly made us pay. But I think our guys started to wake up near the end and realize it wasn't going to be an easy win. Ferguson especially kept us in it until the rest of the guys decided to step it up."

Phoenix coach Bob was clearly disappointed with the final score. "So close..."

Denver was led by Ferguson (20 points, 9 boards, 3 assists, a steal, 3 blocks), Schmidt (29 points, 1 assists, 2 steals), White (15 points, 13 boards, 2 assists, a steal, 2 blocks). Phoenix was led by Dupree (31 points, 28 boards, 5 assists, a steal), Virtue (29 points, 6 boards, 3 assists, 3 steals, 2 blocks), Mercer (13 points, 3 steals).

Denver stand at 24-17 and 15-7 at home after this victory. They improve to #2 in the Northwest and improve to #5 overall in the Western Conference. Phoenix drop to 18-23 with today's loss. They remain at #3 in the Pacific and remain at #11 overall in the Western Conference.
