CVBL: Brooklyn Pulls Out Win Over Portland 91-89
Foster went on fire for 41 points, helping Brooklyn to a win today in a key game against Portland. Although standings were at stake, the game was as much about bragging rights as anything. The teams have a long history against each other that began when coaches Bob and Bob traded insults after an apparently intentional injury to one of Bob's players. Although Bob has long denied that there was any malicious intent, Brooklyn fans don't believe it and turn out in large numbers whenever Portland comes to town.
Brooklyn was led by Foster (41 points, 5 boards, 0 assists, 2 steals, a block), Starks (11 points, 2 steals), Steele (14 points). Portland was led by Dobbs (17 points, 14 assists, 2 steals, a block), Harris (28 points, 5 boards, 2 assists), Delong (12 points, 7 boards, 0 assists, 2 steals).
Brooklyn stand at 22-20. They improve to #4 in the Atlantic and improve to #8 overall in the Eastern Conference. Portland stand at 11-30 and 6-12 at home. They stay at #4 in the Northwest and hold at #13 overall in the Western Conference.
