CVBL: Memphis 113, Sacramento 86

Memphis took Sacramento to school today with a textbook-quality 113-86 beating. The game wasn't even as close as the final score, as Memphis coasted for much of the game on its huge cushion. "We just floundered around like idiots out there," said Sacramento star Sherrill. "Even midway through the game we knew it would take a miracle to pull out a win against Memphis."

Coach Bob admitted as much early in the game when he said, "We're getting beaten up like some high-schoolers. Even when it looks like we have a chance to do something, we can't. This just isn't a pretty game, unless you're a Memphis fan."

Memphis was led by Washington (14 points, 15 boards, 2 assists, 2 blocks), Hayes (20 points, 5 boards, 2 assists, 3 blocks), Jensen (28 points, 2 assists). Sacramento was led by Sherrill (15 points, 1 assists, a steal, a block), Reyes (10 points, 2 steals, 3 blocks), Davis (14 points, 5 boards, 0 assists, a steal, 2 blocks).

Memphis are now 26-14 and 13-5 at home after this victory. They remain at #1 in the Southwest and stay at #3 overall in the Western Conference. After the loss, Sacramento stand at 29-14. They stay at #2 in the Pacific and stay at #4 overall in the Western Conference.
