CVBL: Houston Wins Over Miami 106-91
Everything clicked for Houston today, as they soundly beat Miami 106-91. Miami looked beaten for most of the afternoon, and the final outcome was in little doubt. "I thought we came out ready to play, but we were just overmatched," said Miami coach Bob. "It's kind of demoralizing to lose that way, knowing that you played your best and it wasn't nearly enough." Bob now has the unenviable task of getting his team ready to face another day.
Houston coach Bob couldn't be happier, though. His game plan was executed perfectly, and his players were able to dominate all aspects of the game. "It's great to get a win like this, when everything went according to plan."
Houston was led by James (13 points, 23 boards, 1 assists, 2 blocks), Rogers (29 points, 4 assists), Howard (26 points, 6 boards, 0 assists). Miami was led by Banks (8 points, 3 steals), Durham (25 points), Hargrove (11 points, 5 boards, 0 assists, a steal, 2 blocks).
Houston have been victorious in the past 5 games and stand at 24-16 and 15-6 at home. They remain at #2 in the Southwest and stay at #5 overall in the Western Conference. Miami keep stumbling with a losing streak of 15 games and drop to 13-29. They hold at #5 in the Southeast and remain at #14 overall in the Eastern Conference.
