CVBL: Houston Gets a Big Win Against Utah
Houston fans watched in amazement, as their team was dominated throughout the game but came away with the 103-94 upset of Utah. A frustrated Utah coach Coach Young was interviewed after the game. "I kept thinking that we'd be able to come back and pull out the win. I mean we did everything right and controlled the flow of the game, but ended up just short countless times. Even as things wound down I was confident because we were so dominant out there. But eventually I saw that the better team wasn't going to get the win today."
Houston coach Bob agreed. "I've been on the other end of this plenty of times, too. It's frustrating to watch when you've clearly got the better team out there but can't get the win. As for today, we'll consider ourselves lucky and be more than happy to get the win."
Houston was led by White (23 points, 10 boards, 3 assists, a block), Battle (14 points, 1 assists, 2 steals, a block), Fox (11 points, a steal). Utah was led by Feaster (22 points, 9 boards, 0 assists), Lipscomb (8 points, 5 assists, 2 steals), Sparenberg (7 points, 4 steals).
Houston jump to 24-19 after the victory. They hold at #2 in the Southwest and stay at #7 overall in the Western Conference. Utah drop to 24-18 and 12-8 at home. They fall to #3 in the Northwest and drop to #6 overall in the Western Conference.
