CVBL: Cleveland Upends Detroit
"Cleveland Cheat Detroit," screamed the headlines this morning after some questionable officiating in last night's contest. Even neutral observers wonder whether the set of refs will ever be asked to call another game, as Cleveland got the benefit of every marginal call and a few others that were obviously bad. "The game was rigged more than the WWF," said an upset Detroit coach David Smith after the game. "You've seen the replays. I don't need to say any more." League officials were slower to jump to conclusions, but an anonymous source said that the commissioner was watching the broadcast and couldn't believe his eyes in some cases. "The commish was saying he could have made better calls off his 5 inch travel TV."
Cleveland was led by Reeve (33 points, 11 boards, 3 assists, a steal, a block), Fanny (15 points, 8 assists, 3 steals), Sigler (17 points, 5 boards, 1 assists, 3 blocks). Detroit was led by Day (21 points, 14 boards, 4 assists, a steal), Riffe (11 points, 15 assists, a steal), Reynolds (15 points, 13 boards, 1 assists, a block).
Cleveland jump to 19-21 after the win. They stay at #4 in the Central and stay at #8 overall in the Eastern Conference. Detroit are now 27-12 and 16-4 at home. They move down to #3 in the Central and drop to #5 overall in the Eastern Conference.
