CVBL: Portland Downs Dallas
Portland posted a solid 111-100 win over Dallas today. "I don't think we left any doubt over who was the better team today," said Portland coach Bob. "We pretty much did whatever we wanted out there, and I don't think they ever figured out what to do about Holmes's play."
It will be a tough task for Dallas coach Bob to get his team up for their next game. "We really came in believing that we had a shot to win this one, but obviously that didn't happen. They outplayed us from the start, and there weren't too many happy faces in the locker room afterwards."
Portland was led by Holmes (14 points, 5 boards, 14 assists, a block), Vanderveer (19 points, 14 boards, 1 assists, a steal, 2 blocks), Smith (25 points, 7 boards, 1 assists). Dallas was led by Schmidt (22 points, a steal), Garcia (13 points, 13 boards, 1 assists, a block), Ziegler (18 points, a block).
After today's win, Portland are now 22-18. They stay at #4 in the Northwest and improve to #7 overall in the Western Conference. With this defeat, Dallas drop to 23-19 and 13-9 at home. They remain at #2 in the Southwest and move down to #8 overall in the Western Conference.
