CVBL: Philadelphia Gets Win Over New Orleans
Philadelphia beat New Orleans today, 100-90. But the big headlines in the game came from an incident involving New Orleans players and coach Bob after the game. After the players disappeared into their respective locker rooms, New Orleans players reportedly attacked coach, throwing him to the ground. Reporters waiting outside heard only pieces of the shouting, but the players were clearly upset by Bob's questionable calls late in the game. New Orleans star Buehler was one of those involved, and was still upset about the situation during the post-game interviews. "I'm not free to comment on what happened," he said. "But I will tell you that I'm working my tail off every game and expect the same effort from my teammates and coaches."
Interviews with Philadelphia players were a bit less exciting, with Ferguson giving the cliche line "we're just happy to come out with the win. Coach Bob and his team gave a good fight, but we were the better team today."
Philadelphia was led by Ferguson (31 points, 10 boards, 1 assists, 5 blocks), Norman (20 points, 5 boards, 1 assists), Williams (11 points, 9 boards, 0 assists, a steal, a block). New Orleans was led by Buehler (17 points, a block), Washington (12 points, 1 assists, a steal), Gisi (7 points, 2 blocks).
With this win, Philadelphia are now 31-8 and 17-4 at home. They stay at #1 in the Atlantic and stay at #1 overall in the Eastern Conference. New Orleans stand at 20-19 with this defeat. They remain at #3 in the Southwest and move down to #10 overall in the Western Conference.
