CVBL: Brooklyn Gets Win Over Oklahoma Cty

A solid outing by Alves led Brooklyn to a 93-85 win over Oklahoma Cty. "Take away Alves, and we'd have won this thing," said Oklahoma Cty coach Bob. "It was a very close game most of the way, and he was the one that put Brooklyn over the top. I thought we had the right game plan and executed well. What's sad is that I don't know what we'd do differently next time, except for hoping for a more mortal performance by him."

Brooklyn coach Bob was happy for the win, but concerned about the team's play. "I didn't think this was a very good team win. Our players seemed tempted to sit around and watch Alves do his stuff. That was enough for the win today, but on another day maybe Alves will be injured or our opponents can counter him, and we'll need the rest of the players to step up as well."

Brooklyn was led by Alves (23 points, 13 boards, 0 assists, 3 blocks), Lee (24 points, 12 boards, 0 assists, 3 steals), Fuller (14 points, 1 assists, a block). Oklahoma Cty was led by Golden (21 points, 14 boards, 1 assists), Mcneil (22 points, 1 assists, a steal, 2 blocks), Johnson (12 points, 6 boards, 1 assists, a steal, 2 blocks).

Brooklyn jump to 30-10 and 17-3 at home with the win. They stay at #2 in the Atlantic and remain at #4 overall in the Eastern Conference. After the loss, Oklahoma Cty fall to 20-21. They stay at #4 in the Northwest and stay at #9 overall in the Western Conference.
