CVBL: Portland Beats Orlando in Overtime Thriller
Orlando defied most predictions by taking Portland into overtime, but ran out of gas and lost 109-103. "Portland is an outstanding team," said Orlando coach Bob. "It took everything we had and a little luck to get into overtime in the first place. But they turned it up a notch after regulation and we couldn't match that. I feel bad for Wright, who had a great game but was let down by his teammates."
Portland was led by Smith (21 points, 7 boards, 13 assists, 7 steals), Kimbell (30 points, 6 boards, 3 assists, 2 blocks), Jackson (18 points, 11 boards, 4 assists, 2 blocks). Orlando was led by Wright (22 points, 2 blocks), Burke (21 points, 6 boards, 0 assists, 2 blocks), Mcfadden (19 points).
Portland jump to 29-12 after today's win. They stay at #1 in the Northwest and remain at #2 overall in the Western Conference. After the defeat, Orlando stand at 18-23 and 14-9 at home. They stay at #2 in the Southeast and remain at #8 overall in the Eastern Conference.
