CVBL: Utah Routs Charlotte 113-84
Utah ruined the day for Charlotte with a 113-84 blowout. In a pregame interview, Charlotte coach Bob was optimistic about his team's chances. "We've made some mistakes lately, but if everyone does what they are supposed to we can beat Utah. Don't get me wrong, Coach Young has built a good team and there's a reason they're the favorites. But we're just as good if we stop making our mental mistakes." Said Charlotte star Morse, "Coach is right. We've done some reworking of our talent and our game plan, and we've got what it takes to play with Utah."
Those predictions turned out to be wishful thinking, as Bob and his team will go back to the drawing boards after getting shredded in today's game.
Utah was led by Perkins (29 points, 0 assists, 2 steals, 3 blocks), Baker (10 points, 2 blocks), Hill (12 points, 2 blocks). Charlotte was led by Morse (21 points, 5 boards, 2 assists, a steal), Williams (17 points, 7 boards, 1 assists), Dunmore (9 points, 3 assists, 3 steals).
After today's win, Utah stand at 29-14 and 18-4 at home. They hold at #2 in the Northwest and hold at #4 overall in the Western Conference. After today's loss, Charlotte stand at 23-20. They remain at #2 in the Southeast and move down to #6 overall in the Eastern Conference.
