CVBL: Cleveland Over Orlando 118-109
A solid outing by Fanny led Cleveland to a 118-109 win over Orlando. "Take away Fanny, and we'd have won this thing," said Orlando coach Bob. "It was a very close game most of the way, and he was the one that put Cleveland over the top. I thought we had the right game plan and executed well. What's sad is that I don't know what we'd do differently next time, except for hoping for a more mortal performance by him."
Cleveland coach Bob was happy for the win, but concerned about the team's play. "I didn't think this was a very good team win. Our players seemed tempted to sit around and watch Fanny do his stuff. That was enough for the win today, but on another day maybe Fanny will be injured or our opponents can counter him, and we'll need the rest of the players to step up as well."
Cleveland was led by Fanny (15 points, 2 steals, a block), Sigler (21 points, 8 boards, 5 assists, 2 blocks), Reeve (22 points, 8 boards, 1 assists, 3 blocks). Orlando was led by Moore (19 points, 8 boards, 2 assists), Dupree (17 points, 6 boards, 3 assists, a block), Taylor (15 points, 2 steals).
After the victory, Cleveland jump to 20-21. They hold at #4 in the Central and move up to #7 overall in the Eastern Conference. After this loss, Orlando fall to 17-25 and 10-12 at home. They fall to #4 in the Southeast and drop to #12 overall in the Eastern Conference.
