CVBL: Detroit Wins Over New York 97-80
Detroit posted a solid 97-80 win over New York today. "I don't think we left any doubt over who was the better team today," said Detroit coach David Smith. "We pretty much did whatever we wanted out there, and I don't think they ever figured out what to do about Reynolds's play."
It will be a tough task for New York coach Bob to get his team up for their next game. "We really came in believing that we had a shot to win this one, but obviously that didn't happen. They outplayed us from the start, and there weren't too many happy faces in the locker room afterwards."
Detroit was led by Reynolds (14 points, 13 boards, 0 assists, 3 blocks), Day (22 points, 8 boards, 0 assists, a block), Riffe (9 points, 3 steals, a block). New York was led by Simpson (14 points, 5 boards, 5 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks), Adkins (23 points, 6 boards, 0 assists), Gause (18 points, 7 boards, 0 assists, 2 blocks).
Detroit improve to 28-12 and 17-4 at home with today's win. They advance to #2 in the Central and advance to #4 overall in the Eastern Conference. New York stand at 21-22 after today's defeat. They remain at #3 in the Atlantic and drop to #8 overall in the Eastern Conference.
