CVBL: LA Clippers Beats Utah
LA Clippers overcame a great game by Bush, beating Utah 90-82. "It's a team sport," said losing coach Coach Young. "If we had another couple players like Bush out there, we'd have won this game easily. But we didn't, so we didn't." Coach Young has been under fire lately, and the lackluster performance by his players (save Bush) certainly doesn't improve his job security any.
The normally-quiet Bush was less than satisfied after the game. "I feel betrayed - like I did my best and my teammates didn't. I don't know if it was coach's fault for not getting the team up, or if the other players just all had an off day at the same time. But this was a close game, we had our chances, and we didn't execute when we needed."
LA Clippers was led by Quarles (36 points, a steal), Minor (24 points, 1 assists, a block), Francois (9 points, 0 assists, a steal, a block). Utah was led by Bush (26 points, 10 boards, 1 assists, a steal, 2 blocks), Bernard (9 points, 12 boards, 3 assists, a steal), Smith (15 points, 1 assists, 2 blocks).
After today's win, LA Clippers jump to 36-8. They stay at #1 in the Pacific and stay at #1 overall in the Western Conference. Utah fall to 14-29 and 9-14 at home. They remain at #3 in the Northwest and hold at #12 overall in the Western Conference.
