CVBL: Houston Huge over Minnesota

Minnesota collapsed today, allowing Houston to pull off a huge upset. The final score of 111-107 was less surprising than the Minnesota performance, one of the worst in the last two seasons by the team. "They look like they're on vacation playing a pickup game," said one of the commentators of the game. "Do they even care that this game matters?" Indeed, Files was the only Minnesota player that did well.

After the game, Houston coach Bob was as stunned as the reporters. "Well, I didn't really think we had a chance. I figured we'd go in, put up the best opposition we could, and try to come out without getting pounded too badly. But after I saw the way they were playing, I knew we had a chance to pull it off. I told Allbritton that this was our chance to win the big one, and that he needed to rally the troops. That's exactly what he did, and we were able to come out on top."

Houston was led by Allbritton (29 points, 10 boards, 4 assists, a steal), Howard (26 points, 5 boards, 2 assists, a block), Leonard (15 points, 7 boards, 1 assists, a steal). Minnesota was led by Files (28 points, 4 blocks), Walz (16 points, 10 assists, 2 steals), Davis (27 points, 6 boards, 0 assists, a steal).

Houston improve to 15-27. They stay at #5 in the Southwest and stay at #11 overall in the Western Conference. Minnesota stand at 33-9 and 20-3 at home with the defeat. They remain at #1 in the Northwest and stay at #2 overall in the Western Conference.
