CVBL: Portland Stuns Detroit
Detroit fans watched their team self-destruct today against Portland, in one of the biggest upsets of the season. "I'd like to take the credit for great preparations," said Portland coach Bob after the game. "We did work our rear ends off getting ready for this game, but I really can't believe the number of chances Detroit gave us. First they let us get in the game, and later they let us pull out ahead and take home the win."
Detroit head coach David Smith declined comment after the game. Lost in his team's horrid performance was the one bright point, a solid outing by Thompson.
Portland was led by Thomas (29 points, 1 assists, a steal), Dobbs (12 points, a steal), Harris (20 points, 2 assists, 2 blocks). Detroit was led by Thompson (22 points, 0 assists, 3 blocks), Johnson (15 points, 3 assists, a block), Burke (8 points, 17 boards, 0 assists).
