CVBL: Put it on the Board: Dallas Wins
A collapse by Memphis led to a 113-102 beating by Dallas, increasing the pressure on the Memphis coach. Bob had to suffer through the game as his players were ineffective and his former fans were heckling. To make matters worse, the team was dominated by hated Dallas, a bad thing for any Memphis coach.
"That ---- man can't win a ---- game if his ---- life depended on it!" screamed one disgruntled fan, who is obviously tired of Memphis losing ways. While Memphis deny it, rumors about that they have already started a search for a new coach who can turn this franchise around.
It was just more fuel for the fire today when Dallas took Memphis behind the woodpile for a 113-102 whooping. Although Vegas was predicting a Dallas win, many people believed the Memphis certainly had the talent to knock them off. Woodfin did everything in his power to help his coach, but in the end Parker led the Dallas to victory.
"You hate to see somebody with Bob's character go through this. It's just a sad sight," commented Dallas coach Bob. "We're obviously delighted to get the victory over such a worthy adversary in a big rivalry game like this, and all I can do is credit my players, my assistants, and our fans."
Dallas was led by Parker (30 points, 6 boards, 1 assists, 2 blocks), Dossman (17 points, 0 assists, 3 steals), Digiulio (6 points, 3 steals). Memphis was led by Woodfin (12 points, 11 boards, 0 assists, 3 blocks), Eugene (11 points, 4 assists, a steal), Thomas (13 points, 6 boards, 1 assists).
With today's victory, Dallas stand at 24-18. They stay at #1 in the Southwest and remain at #3 overall in the Western Conference. Memphis snapped their tear at 5 games, and drop to 23-20 and 14-8 at home. They hold at #2 in the Southwest and remain at #6 overall in the Western Conference.
