CVBL: Charlotte 100, Boston 87

Charlotte showed who was the better team tonight with a convincing 100-87 win over Boston. Although not exactly a blowout, Charlotte coach Bob and his players outplayed Boston from start to end. "I was hoping for a better outcome," said Boston coach Bob during a post-game interview. "But they just overpowered us, and there was nothing we could do to adjust. Bob's team was more talented and better-prepared, and it would have taken quite a bit of luck for us to overcome that."

The loss was tough on Boston fans, who had expected great things from their team after some offseason moves. "I think reality is starting to sink in," said one team. "We didn't expect to see other teams outplaying us this badly, but Charlotte sure made their point."

Charlotte was led by Bailey (12 points, 13 boards, 2 assists, 4 blocks), Vance (21 points, 2 assists, 3 blocks), Cullum (19 points, 3 blocks). Boston was led by Moffett (22 points, 0 assists, 2 steals), Monnett (14 points, 3 assists, a steal), Mitchell (14 points, 0 assists, 2 steals).

Charlotte improve to 30-13. They stay at #2 in the Southeast and hold at #4 overall in the Eastern Conference. With the defeat, Boston drop to 28-14 and 17-5 at home. They remain at #1 in the Atlantic and remain at #2 overall in the Eastern Conference.
