CVBL: Atlanta Beats Minnesota
Conner made 41 points, as he led Atlanta to a 121-118 win over Minnesota. The game lived up to its hype, with both teams having their moments but neither side able to dominate for any extended length of time. Said Conner after the game, "This one could have easily gone either way. We're just glad that we came out with the win." Coach Bob echoed the sentiments, saying "Minnesota came out strong and ready to play, and we knew from the start that it would be a battle out there. Probably if we played them 10 times, both sides would get five wins. But we got the win today, and that's what counts."
Minnesota players were disappointed after the game, and coach Bob had his hands full keeping their spirits up. "They know they played their hearts out today, and that it wasn't enough. That's a tough feeling. Especially for Edwards, who had one heck of a game but couldn't carry the whole team on his shoulders."
Atlanta was led by Conner (41 points, 2 steals), Moore (18 points, 11 boards, 1 assists, 2 steals, a block), Wade (16 points, 11 boards, 2 assists, 2 blocks). Minnesota was led by Edwards (35 points, 10 boards, 1 assists, a block), Boll (24 points, 5 assists, 2 steals, a block), Kaplan (12 points, 8 boards, 2 assists, 2 blocks).
Atlanta stand at 18-25 with the win. They hold at #4 in the Southeast and hold at #12 overall in the Eastern Conference. With today's defeat, Minnesota are now 13-28 and 9-15 at home. They hold at #5 in the Northwest and stay at #12 overall in the Western Conference.
