CVBL: Indiana Downs Houston
Indiana brushed past an overmatched Houston team today 106-94. Always politically correct, Indiana coach Coach Hitch stated simply "We just managed to do what we needed to get done out there. The players had solid execution all around, and Borenstein's effort helped set the pace. Houston is a team we've had success against in the past, which I think gave us a bit more confidence coming in."
Houston coach Bob was a little more frank. "We knew going in that we'd need a miracle to beat Indiana, and we didn't get it. They have better players and a better coach, and did what they were supposed to do out there. I'm just glad the final score wasn't even worse."
Indiana was led by Borenstein (5 points, 22 boards, 1 assists, 2 blocks), Henderson (18 points, 10 boards, 0 assists), Williams (22 points, 8 boards, 0 assists). Houston was led by Mackey (25 points, a steal), Howard (27 points), Jackson (5 points, 9 boards, 2 assists, a block).
Indiana have been victorious in the past 6 games and improve to 27-15 and 13-6 at home. They move up to #2 in the Central and improve to #5 overall in the Eastern Conference. With today's defeat, Houston stand at 17-25. They stay at #5 in the Southwest and remain at #8 overall in the Western Conference.
