CVBL: Utah Snatches Win over LA Lakers
Henderson led Utah to victory today over LA Lakers in a 87-79 game. "It was a tough one to lose," said losing coach Andreas Helmle. "I thought we had a great chance going in, and even now I think we'd have a great chance in a rematch. But Henderson made the difference for his team, and we really didn't have an answer today."
Utah coach Coach Young was equally admiring of his star. "LA Lakers were very well prepared for this game, and our boys weren't really ready for what they faced out there. I like to believe that we'd play a better all-around game when we play them again, but we'll be happy riding Henderson and getting the win today."
Utah was led by Henderson (14 points, 15 boards, 0 assists, 7 blocks), Riser (5 points, 8 boards, 7 assists, 4 steals, a block), Fripp (10 points, 3 blocks). LA Lakers was led by Bailey (17 points, 15 boards, 1 assists, a steal, 3 blocks), Carter (22 points, 2 blocks), Singleton (7 points, 2 blocks).
After this win, Utah are now 21-21 and 13-7 at home. They remain at #3 in the Northwest and hold at #9 overall in the Western Conference. LA Lakers fall to 19-25 after this defeat. They remain at #4 in the Pacific and stay at #10 overall in the Western Conference.
