CVBL: Sacramento Cruises to 94-74 Win over New Orleans
Sacramento brushed past an overmatched New Orleans team today 94-74. Always politically correct, Sacramento coach Bob stated simply "We just managed to do what we needed to get done out there. The players had solid execution all around, and Stanford's effort helped set the pace. New Orleans is a team we've had success against in the past, which I think gave us a bit more confidence coming in."
New Orleans coach Bob was a little more frank. "We knew going in that we'd need a miracle to beat Sacramento, and we didn't get it. They have better players and a better coach, and did what they were supposed to do out there. I'm just glad the final score wasn't even worse."
Sacramento was led by Stanford (10 points, 22 boards, 4 assists, a block), Davis (13 points, 17 boards, 1 assists), Bravo (21 points, 2 blocks). New Orleans was led by Williams (19 points, 5 boards, 1 assists, a steal, 2 blocks), Mitchell (14 points, 6 assists), James (10 points, a steal).
With the win, Sacramento stand at 31-14. They remain at #2 in the Pacific and hold at #4 overall in the Western Conference. After today's loss, New Orleans stand at 15-27 and 9-12 at home. They remain at #4 in the Southwest and hold at #12 overall in the Western Conference.
