CVBL: Portland Wins
Portland beat Dallas today in a 110-102 game that was close the whole way. For much of the game, it looked like Dallas would be able to pull off the win, thanks in large part to an outstanding performance by Perry. But the tide finally turned in the end, with Portland star Smith leading his team to victory.
"Definitely a great game," said Portland coach Bob after the game. "The fans got their money's worth out of it, and both teams put up a good fight. We're just glad that we were able to finish strong and get the W. Smith was a big part of that, and I don't think we'd have won without his efforts."
Portland was led by Smith (33 points, 9 boards, 10 assists, 2 steals), Jackson (33 points, 11 boards, 0 assists, 3 blocks), Vanderveer (12 points, 8 boards, 3 assists, 3 blocks). Dallas was led by Perry (45 points, 8 boards, 1 assists, a steal, 2 blocks), Olguin (7 points, 17 assists, 2 steals, a block), Forrester (23 points).
Portland improve to 30-13. They hold at #1 in the Northwest and hold at #2 overall in the Western Conference. Dallas fall to 23-21 and 9-11 at home with this loss. They remain at #3 in the Southwest and hold at #8 overall in the Western Conference.
