CVBL: Memphis 87, Utah 86

Memphis beat Utah today in a 87-86 game that was close the whole way. For much of the game, it looked like Utah would be able to pull off the win, thanks in large part to an outstanding performance by Feaster. But the tide finally turned in the end, with Memphis star Hayes leading his team to victory.

"Definitely a great game," said Memphis coach Bob after the game. "The fans got their money's worth out of it, and both teams put up a good fight. We're just glad that we were able to finish strong and get the W. Hayes was a big part of that, and I don't think we'd have won without his efforts."

Memphis was led by Hayes (20 points, 4 blocks), Jensen (14 points, 5 boards, 1 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks), Dolly (22 points, 0 assists). Utah was led by Feaster (20 points, 19 boards, 1 assists, a block), Patton (16 points, 2 blocks), Smiley (10 points, 6 boards, 1 assists, 2 blocks).

After today's win, Memphis improve to 29-14. They hold at #1 in the Southwest and remain at #3 overall in the Western Conference. Utah have lost their last 5 games and stand at 24-21 and 12-10 at home. They hold at #3 in the Northwest and stay at #7 overall in the Western Conference.
