CVBL: Brooklyn Wins
Brooklyn beat Boston today, 127-120. But the big headlines in the game came from an incident involving Boston players and coach Bob after the game. After the players disappeared into their respective locker rooms, Boston players reportedly attacked coach, throwing him to the ground. Reporters waiting outside heard only pieces of the shouting, but the players were clearly upset by Bob's questionable calls late in the game. Boston star Manly was one of those involved, and was still upset about the situation during the post-game interviews. "I'm not free to comment on what happened," he said. "But I will tell you that I'm working my tail off every game and expect the same effort from my teammates and coaches."
Interviews with Brooklyn players were a bit less exciting, with Duncan giving the cliche line "we're just happy to come out with the win. Coach Bob and his team gave a good fight, but we were the better team today."
Brooklyn was led by Duncan (25 points, 21 boards, 2 assists, a steal, a block), Hazan (27 points, 2 steals), Gray (17 points, 10 boards, 1 assists, a steal). Boston was led by Manly (34 points, 5 boards, 3 assists), Mcfadden (8 points, 18 boards, 3 assists, 2 blocks), Knott (12 points, 5 boards, 2 assists, 2 blocks).
Brooklyn have won their last 6 games and jump to 25-18 and 14-7 at home. They stay at #2 in the Atlantic and hold at #6 overall in the Eastern Conference. Boston halted their tear at 5 games, and stand at 18-24. They stay at #4 in the Atlantic and hold at #10 overall in the Eastern Conference.
