CVBL: Philadelphia Blows Past Toronto 115-83
Philadelphia took Toronto to school today with a textbook-quality 115-83 beating. The game wasn't even as close as the final score, as Philadelphia coasted for much of the game on its huge cushion. "We just floundered around like idiots out there," said Toronto star Henderson. "Even midway through the game we knew it would take a miracle to pull out a win against Philadelphia."
Coach Bob admitted as much early in the game when he said, "We're getting beaten up like some high-schoolers. Even when it looks like we have a chance to do something, we can't. This just isn't a pretty game, unless you're a Philadelphia fan."
Philadelphia was led by Simmons (26 points, 10 boards, 2 assists, a steal), Roberson (10 points, 3 steals), Glover (21 points, a steal, a block). Toronto was led by Henderson (16 points, 8 boards, 0 assists, a block), Simmonds (19 points), Hawkins (14 points, a steal).
Philadelphia jump to 25-18 and 13-10 at home with the victory. They stay at #2 in the Atlantic and stay at #8 overall in the Eastern Conference. After this loss, Toronto drop to 18-26. They stay at #3 in the Atlantic and hold at #11 overall in the Eastern Conference.
