CVBL: Philadelphia Downs San Antonio

Philadelphia showed their mettle today with a convincing 104-86 win over San Antonio. "After some of the games we've had, I think we've left some doubt as to whether we can solidly beat anybody," said head coach Bob after the game. "I don't know that one game will erase those doubts, but I can certainly see the difference in the locker room."

The win came largely as the result of a great effort by Palacios, the Philadelphia star. Said Bob of him, "The game would have gone down to the wire without Palacios's efforts today. He really made the difference between another tough battle and a dominating win."

Philadelphia was led by Palacios (11 points, 5 boards, 6 assists, a steal), Ferguson (10 points, 7 boards, 4 assists), Eatmon (18 points, 5 boards, 0 assists). San Antonio was led by Gorman (10 points, 8 assists), Thompson (6 points, 7 boards, 1 assists, 2 steals, a block), Worthy (7 points, 5 assists, 2 steals).

Philadelphia stand at 29-15 and 18-5 at home with the win. They stay at #1 in the Atlantic and remain at #2 overall in the Eastern Conference. San Antonio drop to 17-27 with the loss. They remain at #5 in the Southwest and stay at #13 overall in the Western Conference.
