CVBL: Minnesota 107, Phoenix 103

Minnesota beat Phoenix today, 107-103. But the big headlines in the game came from an incident involving Phoenix players and coach Bob after the game. After the players disappeared into their respective locker rooms, Phoenix players reportedly attacked coach, throwing him to the ground. Reporters waiting outside heard only pieces of the shouting, but the players were clearly upset by Bob's questionable calls late in the game. Phoenix star Celaya was one of those involved, and was still upset about the situation during the post-game interviews. "I'm not free to comment on what happened," he said. "But I will tell you that I'm working my tail off every game and expect the same effort from my teammates and coaches."

Interviews with Minnesota players were a bit less exciting, with Smith giving the cliche line "we're just happy to come out with the win. Coach Bob and his team gave a good fight, but we were the better team today."

Minnesota was led by Smith (26 points, 2 blocks), Daniels (14 points, 15 boards, 1 assists), Gisi (8 points, 10 boards, 2 assists). Phoenix was led by Celaya (30 points, a block), Hunt (14 points, 16 boards, 1 assists), Dupree (20 points, 2 assists, 2 blocks).

Minnesota jump to 24-19 and 13-7 at home after today's win. They hold at #3 in the Northwest and stay at #7 overall in the Western Conference. Phoenix fall to 23-22 after this defeat. They remain at #3 in the Pacific and fall to #9 overall in the Western Conference.
