CVBL: Denver Over Dallas 94-85
Denver overcame a great game by Clark, beating Dallas 94-85. "It's a team sport," said losing coach Bob. "If we had another couple players like Clark out there, we'd have won this game easily. But we didn't, so we didn't." Bob has been under fire lately, and the lackluster performance by his players (save Clark) certainly doesn't improve his job security any.
The normally-quiet Clark was less than satisfied after the game. "I feel betrayed - like I did my best and my teammates didn't. I don't know if it was coach's fault for not getting the team up, or if the other players just all had an off day at the same time. But this was a close game, we had our chances, and we didn't execute when we needed."
Denver was led by Hamilton (24 points, 16 boards, 0 assists, a steal, a block), Strong (26 points, 2 assists, 2 blocks), Smith (5 points, 2 steals). Dallas was led by Clark (24 points, a steal, 2 blocks), Bernard (11 points, 11 boards, 2 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks), Jenkins (14 points, 7 boards, 0 assists, a steal, 2 blocks).
Denver are now 32-13. They remain at #1 in the Northwest and hold at #2 overall in the Western Conference. Dallas stand at 19-26 and 12-12 at home. They hold at #4 in the Southwest and drop to #11 overall in the Western Conference.
