CVBL: Houston Clobbers Boston
Houston showed who was the better team tonight with a convincing 122-102 win over Boston. Although not exactly a blowout, Houston coach Bob and his players outplayed Boston from start to end. "I was hoping for a better outcome," said Boston coach Bob during a post-game interview. "But they just overpowered us, and there was nothing we could do to adjust. Bob's team was more talented and better-prepared, and it would have taken quite a bit of luck for us to overcome that."
The loss was tough on Boston fans, who had expected great things from their team after some offseason moves. "I think reality is starting to sink in," said one team. "We didn't expect to see other teams outplaying us this badly, but Houston sure made their point."
Houston was led by Howard (22 points, 6 boards, 3 assists, 2 blocks), Uriegas (14 points, 14 boards, 1 assists, a block), James (10 points, 10 boards, 4 assists, a steal, a block). Boston was led by Mcfadden (7 points, 9 boards, 1 assists, a steal, 3 blocks), Dixon (17 points, 1 assists), Manly (16 points).
Houston are now 26-18 and 16-7 at home after the victory. They remain at #2 in the Southwest and hold at #5 overall in the Western Conference. After this defeat, Boston fall to 18-25. They hold at #4 in the Atlantic and stay at #10 overall in the Eastern Conference.
