CVBL: Chicago Beats Brooklyn 105-99
The fans got what they came out for, as Chicago won a seesaw 105-99 victory over Brooklyn. "What a great game to have been a part of," said Chicago star Meyers. "The momentum kept changing and neither team really had a chance to run away with the game. It just came down to having more in the tank at the end, and that was us."
Brooklyn coach Bob was less enthusiastic about the game. "We had our chances to win the game, but didn't convert them. I'm most bothered that it seemed like we faded down the stretch; I think we may need to spend a little more time working on conditioning in the future. Regardless, it was a great game. Meyers and [Brooklyn star] Owens really put on a show for the fans."
Chicago was led by Meyers (26 points, 8 boards, 1 assists, 2 blocks), Sigler (16 points, 5 boards, 3 assists, 3 blocks), Wilson (11 points, a block). Brooklyn was led by Owens (32 points, 7 assists, 2 blocks), Jackson (16 points, 2 steals), Jeanlouis (10 points, 9 boards, 0 assists, 2 blocks).
With today's victory, Chicago are now 26-17. They remain at #4 in the Central and hold at #7 overall in the Eastern Conference. With today's defeat, Brooklyn drop to 26-16 and 16-7 at home. They hold at #1 in the Atlantic and hold at #3 overall in the Eastern Conference.
