CVBL: Brooklyn Over Orlando 67-60
A solid outing by Lee led Brooklyn to a 67-60 win over Orlando. "Take away Lee, and we'd have won this thing," said Orlando coach Bob. "It was a very close game most of the way, and he was the one that put Brooklyn over the top. I thought we had the right game plan and executed well. What's sad is that I don't know what we'd do differently next time, except for hoping for a more mortal performance by him."
Brooklyn coach Bob was happy for the win, but concerned about the team's play. "I didn't think this was a very good team win. Our players seemed tempted to sit around and watch Lee do his stuff. That was enough for the win today, but on another day maybe Lee will be injured or our opponents can counter him, and we'll need the rest of the players to step up as well."
Brooklyn was led by Lee (9 points, 18 boards, 2 assists, a steal), Olson (15 points, a steal, 3 blocks), Alves (14 points, 2 assists, a block). Orlando was led by Wright (9 points, 4 blocks), Mcfadden (9 points, 2 steals), Burke (11 points, 5 boards, 1 assists, a steal, a block).
Brooklyn jump to 31-11. They hold at #2 in the Atlantic and remain at #4 overall in the Eastern Conference. Orlando drop to 19-25 and 14-10 at home. They hold at #2 in the Southeast and remain at #8 overall in the Eastern Conference.
