CVBL: Indiana 96, Portland 88
Indiana defeated Portland last night by a score of 96-88, proving that they are not done winning just yet. They have come under scrutiny lately, despite the fact that they have continued winning. Coach Coach Hitch said after the game that "We just can't impress the sportswriters enough, I guess. No matter how we perform during the game, there are going to be reasons to complain."
Portland coach Bob couldn't agree more. "This is a good team. The better team just won tonight, that's all. Go write your story."
Indiana was led by Owens (22 points, 2 blocks), Handy (7 points, 12 assists, a steal), Williams (23 points, 6 boards, 2 assists). Portland was led by Chapple (34 points), Ortega (16 points, 5 boards, 2 assists, 2 blocks), King (8 points, 9 assists, a steal).
With this victory, Indiana jump to 29-15. They hold at #3 in the Central and hold at #5 overall in the Eastern Conference. Portland extended their losing streak 13 games and fall to 12-32 and 11-8 at home. They remain at #5 in the Northwest and stay at #15 overall in the Western Conference.
