CVBL: Memphis and Milwaukee Down to the Wire

Milwaukee failed to make the most of their chances, coming up short 95-88 against Memphis in today's contest. "They got a gift, no question in my mind," grumbled Milwaukee coach Bob. "We outplayed them today, but just couldn't come up with the big plays when we were threatening to score. I just can't wait until the rematch; we'll show them who's really the best."

Memphis coach Bob saw things a little differently. "I'm proud of our defensive effort today. They avoided giving up the big plays, and really came through in the key situations. Bob may blame his offense, but they'd have been able to score if they didn't have good opposition."

Memphis was led by Martin (15 points, 2 steals), Thomas (26 points, 5 boards, 0 assists), Wilkins (10 points, 4 assists, 5 steals). Milwaukee was led by Young (19 points, 12 boards, 2 assists, a steal, 2 blocks), Fraser (7 points, 5 boards, 8 assists, 6 steals), Shaw (16 points, 6 boards, 0 assists, a steal).

Memphis stand at 26-20 and 15-8 at home with the victory. They hold at #1 in the Southwest and remain at #3 overall in the Western Conference. Milwaukee are now 18-27 with today's loss. They stay at #4 in the Central and hold at #12 overall in the Eastern Conference.
