CVBL: Bob Gets Big Win over Brooklyn
Miami beat Brooklyn by a score of 101-90, even catching some fans off guard. "We knew the lines in Vegas listed us as favorites," said Miami coach Bob. "And we knew we had a great shot going in, but really expected a more competitive game. I don't know whether we were really that good or whether they had something else on their minds. Whatever, we're thrilled to get this kind of win over an excellent team like Brooklyn."
Said Brooklyn star Owens, "Coach kept yelling at us 'you know you're better than that,' and he was right. We just didn't have the intensity or whatever today, and it showed in our game. The good thing is that we know we can't play much worse than we did out there, and that we could have won if we'd played as good as we're capable of playing."
Miami was led by Perry (29 points, 10 boards, 2 assists, 2 steals), Crandell (12 points, 7 boards, 2 assists, 2 steals, a block), Hively (11 points, 5 boards, 1 assists). Brooklyn was led by Owens (29 points, 7 assists, a block), Jeanlouis (10 points, 14 boards, 0 assists, 2 steals, 3 blocks), Jackson (5 points, 5 boards, 12 assists, a steal).
Miami extended their winning streak 10 games and stand at 30-14 and 16-6 at home. They hold at #1 in the Southeast and remain at #2 overall in the Eastern Conference. Brooklyn are now 26-17. They remain at #1 in the Atlantic and stay at #3 overall in the Eastern Conference.
