CVBL: Orlando Wins 105-90
It has been a nightmare season for veteran coach Perez Suarez and his team. The bright points have been few and far between, as the team is looking for somewhere to hide. Today's game was equally painful, as the team opened up strong but collapsed down the stretch, failing to take advantages of numerous opportunities to get back in the game. Hunt helped put the nail in the coffin today with his outstanding game.
"Perez Suarez talked a lot of junk before the start of the season." stated Orlando Hunt. "They may be one of the worst teams in the league, but we know that everyone in that locker room wants to play just a little harder when they see Golden State on their schedule."
"Sure, they do stink." added head coach Bob, "but look at what happened when teams have been overconfident against them. Not that I can really blame them. If we were that pathetic, I think I would rather play all rookies and lose that way then be embarrassed."
Orlando was led by Hunt (15 points, 15 boards, 3 assists, a steal, 2 blocks), Buchanan (22 points, a block), Smith (5 points, 2 steals). Golden State was led by French (20 points, 4 assists, a steal, a block), Chapman (10 points, 15 boards, 1 assists, a block), Whitley (13 points, 8 boards, 1 assists).
Orlando improve to 31-14. They hold at #1 in the Southeast and remain at #2 overall in the Eastern Conference. With this loss, Golden State fall to 9-36 and 4-16 at home. They remain at #5 in the Pacific and stay at #15 overall in the Western Conference.
