CVBL: New Orleans Beats Denver

Vancourt continues to dominate the league and helped New Orleans post an expected win over Denver, 103-94. The game was a solid team effort, but Vancourt - a favorite for post-season honors - was outstanding, completely overshadowing a great performance by Denver key player, Wise.

Vancourt's coach, Bob, had nothing but praise for his star. "He's just special. It's something just to sit back and watch him do his thing. He certainly brings pride to New Orleans fans everywhere." Denver coach Bob was concilliatory after the game as well. "When Vancourt is doing his thing, you just hope you can keep him under control. We didn't, though Wise certainly did his part. We really thought we could win this game, so the locker room is pretty quiet right now. We'll just have to turn our focus to next week."

New Orleans was led by Vancourt (18 points, 6 boards, 4 assists, 3 steals, a block), Gisi (7 points, 11 boards, 2 assists, a steal, a block), Washington (14 points, 1 assists, 2 blocks). Denver was led by Wise (5 points, 5 boards, 10 assists, 2 steals), Smiley (7 points, 11 boards, 1 assists, a steal), Chopp (11 points, 8 boards, 1 assists, a steal).

New Orleans are now 22-21 and 11-11 at home. They remain at #4 in the Southwest and stay at #10 overall in the Western Conference. Denver stand at 21-22 after the defeat. They stay at #5 in the Northwest and remain at #11 overall in the Western Conference.
