CVBL: Orlando 93, Philadelphia 90
Orlando overcame a great game by Garcia, beating Philadelphia 93-90. "It's a team sport," said losing coach Bob. "If we had another couple players like Garcia out there, we'd have won this game easily. But we didn't, so we didn't." Bob has been under fire lately, and the lackluster performance by his players (save Garcia) certainly doesn't improve his job security any.
The normally-quiet Garcia was less than satisfied after the game. "I feel betrayed - like I did my best and my teammates didn't. I don't know if it was coach's fault for not getting the team up, or if the other players just all had an off day at the same time. But this was a close game, we had our chances, and we didn't execute when we needed."
Orlando was led by Thomas (18 points, 8 boards, 0 assists, 2 blocks), Rausch (10 points, 11 boards, 2 assists, a block), Archie (13 points, a steal). Philadelphia was led by Garcia (28 points, 0 assists, a block), Roberson (10 points, 9 assists, 5 steals), Franklin (15 points, 10 boards, 0 assists, 2 blocks).
Orlando are now 25-21 and 14-9 at home with this victory. They stay at #3 in the Southeast and remain at #10 overall in the Eastern Conference. Philadelphia fall to 25-20. They stay at #2 in the Atlantic and remain at #9 overall in the Eastern Conference.
