CVBL: Atlanta Stumbles, Boston Win

A walk in the park for Atlanta turned into a nightmare, as Boston pulled off the upset in today's showdown. As usual after a surprise loss, the finger pointing came after the game in the Atlanta locker room. "Coach didn't really bother preparing us for this game. We'd already been watching films of our next opponent," said Baker.

Bob acknowledged that was true, but said "our next opponent is three times as good as Boston. Of course we dedicate more time to preparing for them. I'm not faulting Baker, but if the rest of the team had played as hard we'd have won this game easily. It was a lack of effort, not preparation."

Boston coach Bob could care less whose fault it was. "We're thrilled to get the win. They can make all the excuses they want, but we were the better team out there today."

Boston was led by Mcfadden (12 points, 20 boards, 5 assists, 3 blocks), Knott (20 points, 5 boards, 2 assists, 3 blocks), Manly (25 points, a block). Atlanta was led by Baker (20 points, 9 boards, 0 assists, 4 blocks), Rawlings (30 points), Laws (25 points, 5 boards, 0 assists, 2 blocks).

Boston improve to 19-25 with today's win. They hold at #4 in the Atlantic and move up to #9 overall in the Eastern Conference. Atlanta fall to 23-22 and 16-8 at home. They remain at #1 in the Southeast and stay at #3 overall in the Eastern Conference.
