CVBL: Indiana Upends Detroit
Indiana came out solid today, defying the predictions and notching the 99-77 upset of Detroit. "Somebody forgot to tell them they were underdogs," quipped Detroit coach David Smith after the game. "No question, they were the better team out there today and deserved this win. I thought we came in prepared, but that was just a lot better than we've seen Indiana play for some time."
Credit has to be given to Indiana coach Coach Hitch, who brought his team together after some tough losses earlier and has them playing at their best. "Some of the us really took those losses hard," said star Tyler. "But coach sat us down and showed us what we were doing wrong and what we needed to do to turn around. That was great to hear, and you saw the results today."
Indiana was led by Tyler (30 points, 8 boards, 2 assists, 2 steals, a block), Mack (7 points, 15 assists, 5 steals), Henderson (18 points, 11 boards, 2 assists, a block). Detroit was led by Fox (18 points, 2 assists, 2 blocks), Newman (16 points, 0 assists, 3 blocks), Baker (10 points, 2 blocks).
Indiana stand at 18-26 and 11-12 at home after today's win. They improve to #2 in the Central and move up to #9 overall in the Eastern Conference. Detroit drop to 25-19 with the defeat. They remain at #1 in the Central and hold at #3 overall in the Eastern Conference.
