CVBL: San Antonio Routs Boston 100-66
Not that anybody expected today's San Antonio-Boston matchup to be terribly competitive, but this was almost comical. The 100-66 final score was enough of a headline, but the game wasn't even as close as that score indicated as San Antonio coach Bob played it conservative most of the game to avoid running up the score too much. "Boy, it's great to see our offense click like that," he said. "It's like a gourmet restaurant - everything on the menu looked good." Said losing coach Bob, "We were just outclassed, no question. We don't have the talent they do, and we weren't as prepared coming in. And it was definitely classy of Bob to pull his key players halfway through the game."
San Antonio was led by Bean (10 points, 14 boards, 4 assists, 2 blocks), Roberson (8 points, 5 boards, 6 assists, 4 steals), Kirby (20 points, 5 boards, 1 assists). Boston was led by Moffett (17 points, 2 steals, a block), Labat (11 points, 2 blocks), Mitchell (6 points, 6 boards, 1 assists, 2 steals).
With today's win, San Antonio stand at 22-24 and 11-10 at home. They stay at #3 in the Southwest and hold at #8 overall in the Western Conference. Boston stand at 28-17 with today's loss. They move down to #2 in the Atlantic and move down to #5 overall in the Eastern Conference.
