CVBL: Denver Beats Miami
Denver beat Miami today in a 89-88 game that was close the whole way. For much of the game, it looked like Miami would be able to pull off the win, thanks in large part to an outstanding performance by Jackson. But the tide finally turned in the end, with Denver star Parker leading his team to victory.
"Definitely a great game," said Denver coach Bob after the game. "The fans got their money's worth out of it, and both teams put up a good fight. We're just glad that we were able to finish strong and get the W. Parker was a big part of that, and I don't think we'd have won without his efforts."
Denver was led by Parker (14 points, 2 assists, 2 steals, a block), Slayton (14 points, 2 assists, 2 blocks), Chopp (12 points, 9 boards, 1 assists). Miami was led by Jackson (26 points, 5 boards, 0 assists, 6 blocks), Romero (8 points, 14 boards, 2 assists, a block), Lisa (18 points, 0 assists).
After today's win, Denver improve to 22-24. They hold at #5 in the Northwest and remain at #10 overall in the Western Conference. Miami drop to 18-28 and 10-12 at home with the loss. They fall to #4 in the Southeast and move down to #11 overall in the Eastern Conference.
