CVBL: Phoenix Pulls out the Win over Portland
Portland came up short today against Phoenix, falling 106-99. "That was a really tough game to lose," said Portland coach Bob after the game. "We came in thinking we could beat these guys. And we really played them well. But a few too many mistakes on our part kept us from getting the 'W'." One player who definitely can't be too downcast is Vanderveer, whose outstanding game was one of the bright points for Portland and caused some other teams to take notice.

After the victory, Phoenix jump to 23-23. They hold at #3 in the Pacific and advance to #10 overall in the Western Conference. With the defeat, Portland drop to 24-22 and 13-7 at home. They stay at #4 in the Northwest and move down to #8 overall in the Western Conference.
