CVBL: Portland Dominant in Win Over Toronto
Portland beat Toronto by a score of 106-93, even catching some fans off guard. "We knew the lines in Vegas listed us as favorites," said Portland coach Bob. "And we knew we had a great shot going in, but really expected a more competitive game. I don't know whether we were really that good or whether they had something else on their minds. Whatever, we're thrilled to get this kind of win over an excellent team like Toronto."
Said Toronto star Perkins, "Coach kept yelling at us 'you know you're better than that,' and he was right. We just didn't have the intensity or whatever today, and it showed in our game. The good thing is that we know we can't play much worse than we did out there, and that we could have won if we'd played as good as we're capable of playing."
Portland was led by Kimbell (32 points, 0 assists, 3 blocks), Smith (9 points, 6 boards, 12 assists, 4 steals), Jackson (30 points, 5 boards, 3 assists, a block). Toronto was led by Perkins (13 points, 6 boards, 7 assists, a block), Wright (8 points, 16 boards, 2 assists, a block), Daniels (24 points).
Portland jump to 32-14 and 15-7 at home with this victory. They remain at #1 in the Northwest and hold at #2 overall in the Western Conference. Toronto fall to 21-23. They hold at #4 in the Atlantic and hold at #7 overall in the Eastern Conference.
